Things to do at the Orange Coast River Park

Whether you’re looking for a hard workout or just to relax, there is always plenty for you to do at the OCRP.

Hiking & Running

There are many walking trails between Fairview Park, the River Trail and Huntington Beach Wetlands and the California Coastal Trail.

The most straight forward walk or run is along Huntington State Beach or from the Fairview Park parking lot.

The California Coastal Trail as outlined by the California Coastal Conservancy and Coastwalk, passes through Orange Coast River Park.

One of the unique recreation opportunities in OCRP is located in Fairview Park where there is a model aircraft airport.

Bird watching in the OCRP is amazing - bring your gear or just your eyes and ears and explore our species. Let us know what you find by tagging us #OCRP on social media, and if you see an endangered species such as the California Gnatcatcher or the Burrowing Owl please let us know!

Fairview Park has great horseback riding complete with places to tie up your horses while you use the restroom and water for you and your horse!

Orange Coast River Park is an ideal location to have a picnic. It has many nice locations including:

Fairview Park, Costa Mesa, CAFairview Park encompasses 208 acres of open space consisting of bluffs, vernal pools, trails, native plant communities and wildlife. Public bathrooms available.

Huntington Beach State Park
Huntington Beach State Park is a great place to park, picnic, enjoy the beach and start a hike or bicycle ride. Public bathrooms available.

Le Bard Park, Huntington Beach, CA
Le Bard Park is a great place for a picnic and to start a bike ride, jog or walk along the Santa Ana River.

Vista Park
Vista Park has a great view of OCRP and the surrounding areas with a view on clear days to the ocean and horizon. It is a great place to start or end your activities.
